...the 'education' consists of photocopied sheets from a really lame 'program' that the school shelled out millions of dollars to buy...and no actual 'teaching' is happening!
Your fifth grader comes home from DARE day showing you all the household products he can get high on. Honestly, that program is so moronic I can't stand it.
This is so appropos I will post two answers. "You know there is a problem with the education system when you realize that...this miserable creature is in charge of the learning in a classroom."

I might add that my first grader had an experience with overtly political teaching (it was totally false, outrageous and ridiculous)...this was the last straw for us and the final push we needed to get the heck out of the public school system.
I've already answered, but I want to add another comment because I just came across this amazing example of the worst of American public education:

Sadly, I had a first grader who had an experience with overtly political teaching. It was dispicable, but it inspires a sense of gratitude for me now, since I realize it was the last straw that drove us out of public education for good. Five kids in private school for 12 years is going to hurt, but I'll happily eat ramen noodles and peanut butter sandwiches in exchange for sharp, inquisitive, intelligent kids.
(Yikes anniebird...I'll add another too!)
...the high school principal is well aware that the History of Jazz teacher (who announced on the first day of school that he knows nothing about jazz) hasn't taught one class since the beginning of the school year and does absolutley nothing about it. Four quarters of nothing but hanging out in the band room.
I think for finding video or musics you must use special search engines. Rapidshare Search Engine ( http://rapidqueen.com ) is important to make searching in rapidshare easy and comfortable.

Some Vice Principals love to upset children in telling them that there are no Unicorns because they don't have a good imagination.

your kids can tell you that a family can have two dads, but they don't know anything about the history of western civilization and thought.
