Have you already taken a vacation this summer or do you still have it to look forward to? (Or do you not take vacations?)

We don't take official vacations. Now that we have a new granddaughter, we take long weekends driving 400 miles to visit her for an hour or so.

I had 2 unpaid vacations. Sad. First I went to Atlanta for 5 days to visit my girlfriend. The trip was only supposed to be 3 days long over the holiday weekend but somebody booked the red eye flight a day early and then the returning flight got wicked delayed. Then last week I went to Phoenix for a few days to hang out with an amputee group. Woo!

We have had a combined Winter/School holiday.
I took Miss 6 up to the Gold Coast for a break and unfortunately she was sick for the whole of the school holidays (2 weeks). But the little darling perked up for a few rides at Dreamworld. Kids you gotta love them.

We went to the beach and the only trip I'll be taking now is the one for my 50th reunion.

We have a week in August, but haven't decided what to do yet!

Actually, I went away for a long week-end in June...It was wonderful. A group of women, yarn to be knit or spun, great food, a beautiful lake to canoe on or just look at. It was a great relaxing time.
Now...tomorrow I am leaving for another long week-end...this time to BOSTON! And, it too will be spent with friends...enjoying the town and the scenery as well as the food!

I can't remember the last time we took a real vacation. Usually it's just a couple of days off work, and we bum around locally. There's always things to do, and it beats spending a ton of money on plane tickets or gas for the car.

no vacations, just day trips from time to time. I'm not comfy leaving Dad alone for too long.

Hi Michele- thanks for using my question- I took my vacation from July 7 to July 19 & so have nothing much but Halloween & Christmas to look forward to now!

I'm seriously considering a vacation around November, because my last one was a trip to the UK in September last year. However, it's not summer here, it's winter - cold, grey and miserable.

We're hoping to spend 3-4 weeks at the beach in Cornwall in August for our holiday. We've also got two weeks in Dubai fixed up for Christmas. If we can't get new jobs quickly (we're both being made redundant) then maybe we'll fit in another trip somewhere in the Autumn :-)

I had a winter/summer vacation in February. I went to Brazil for my sis wedding. It was winter in here, summer in there! :)
