For several oh-so-long months between the ages of six and six and four months, the one thing I wanted more than anything in the whole wide world (Even more than a pony!) was Velvet. She was a doll with a purple velvet dress and long hair that grew. Yes, it grew. She was magic. She was the sister, or friend, or something of Crissy. But, I did not want Crissy, My heart longed for Velvet!
After many first star of the night wishes, silent prayers sent to the land of doll dreams, and constant finger crossing, it happened. Velvet appeared, as if by magic, and was mine all mine.
Thirty-something years later I have discovered something new that my heart longs for. Once again I am wishing on stars, sending silent prayers and crossing my fingers.Oh wait, when I was six I also sent a letter to a big guy with a jolly laugh.
That does still work, doesn't it?
Hell no, bull-shit walks...money talks!

Oh my, Velvet was so much more special than that crew cut Crissy...(I was so young then and scissors meant nothing).
But that jolly fat man sure does need a endless Visa card if you really still believe in him. $$$$$$$$$$$$

Oh, this is a tricky one.....sometimes we should Be Very Careful What We Wish For.
For a number of years I 'wished' (as hard as I could) to move to NY so that my husband, children and I could be near his family.
My wish came true.
No prizes for guessing what I'm wishing for now........
