Three random things I did this past weekend:
- Went to a baby shower for a neighbour of mine. There is nothing quite like the joy of being the only child-free woman in a room full of women who are comparing childbirth stories.
- Celebrated the wedding proposal and engagement of someone very special to me.
- Spent an entire day between the covers of several fictional worlds.
Your turn. Name three random things you did this past weekend.
Went dancing.
Helped a friend who got locked out of her car.
Called my son and provided some words for a Madlib game over the phone.

2. Worked out in our new little workout room.
3. Tried to stop my freaked out dog from barking at the neighbors' new robotic reindeer decorations, even when she came inside.

I've been to those kind of baby showers...they do seem to enjoy telling their 'horror' stories for us child-less ladies.
ok, my three things:
1: text messaged a friend when I was supposed to be working, about a crush on a co-worker, but I didn't have any pages so I didn't actually have anything to do.
2: started a new book, Dominion by Randy Alcorn.
3: finished my Star Trek short story over at my Fiction site even though it won't be posted until tomorrow

Yes, the horror stories of birth are fun to tell. What often gets passed over, I find, is mention of the overwhelming sense of Goodness (or Godness, perhaps!) that fills every corner of a maternity ward. There is something magical there; mothers who cocoon with new babes experience a little slice of heaven, I think. Something wonderful and awesome and pure accompanies birth, make no mistake.
my three weekend things:
1. watched "Holiday Inn" with the girls and hub on Friday night
2. made styrofoam Christmas decorations (kits from the craft store) with girls on Saturday...foisted them off on neighbors by Sunday!
3. ventured out in a snowstorm with all kids and husband to buy wreath and garland to decorate the outside of the house.
bonus 4. had a mini-breakdown and moment of despair when I realized that the tub drain was clogged...AGAIN...and that I wouldn't be able to take the bath I really thought I deserved.
