Yes, Something Is Different

Dearfriend Dear Friends,

At first glance, it might appear that there is nothing different or unusual about my blog. Well, except of course that  my blog is considered by many to be frustratingly different and unappealingly unusual. However, this note is not for those people. No, it  is for you, my regular and loyal visitor. Please, let me assure you that some things about my blog have and shall continue to  remain the same. The layout has not changed. The leg picture and the wonderfully long blog-roll remain.   There is still an offering of interactive comment games, questions from my blog friends, and much silliness from me.  Yet,  if you look carefully you will notice a subtle yet significant change.  There are more  posts than usual and  the  daily posts  have now become weekly ones.

More posts today is the subtle change.
The fact that this blog has now become a weekly rather than a daily offering, is the significant change.

What might, perhaps, be deemed by some as my way of doing less blogging, is in truth, a way for me to continue to blog. My choice was quite simple: cut  back on daily posting or close my blog. I chose, for  now, to simply cut back. This choice will however allow me time to  visit some  of the blogs that I enjoy, and more importantly to connect or reconnect with some of the bloggers I am so very fond of. Yes, I will still be around to read and  monitor comments that are left here. Yes, more visits and comments, from me, will be left elsewhere. You have been warned.

Please, let me share with you a bit about some of the changes you will see.

Change is good, unless...

The Weekly Three Things

Two random things I did this past weekend:

  • Spent several days with three of my closest friends roughing it in the wilds of Northern Ontario. Of course, any weekend home that has a gourmet kitchen, a fully stocked wine cellar, servants quarters, and remote controlled fireplaces - is not exactly what some people might define as roughing it. Oh, but wait, we had to make our own morning coffee. Do you feel my roughing-it-pain?
  • Discovered that even in moments of much laughter and more than much wine, I can deeply miss someone special who is  oh-so-many miles away. Now, that is what my heart considers roughing it.
One random thing I am looking forward to this week.
  • A dear friend and I have just launched a book-club-for-two. Our first selection is Atonement by Ian McEwan. I eagerly anticipate not only reading this book, but sharing impressions and reflections of this book with a friend that has a wonderfully literate mind.

Your turn. Name two random things  you did  this past weekend and one random thing you are looking forward to this week.

The All About You Test

Please read the instructions carefully! You are about to take another weekly All About You Test.

The Instructions:

Take your time for the test and try to answer as many questions as possible. You are going to be asked 5 questions. Please look at a clock and time how long it takes you. You should not need loner than 30 minutes. If you need longer, please consider learning more about yourself.

After you completed the 5 questions, you have finished the test and you may leave the comment section testing area. But please remember: these on-line "all about you" tests can never be as accurate as tests supervised by trained professionals.

We from All-things-Michele hope you have fun with the test.

Good Luck and best wishes!

The Weekly Book Question

Shh In a recent  "other than"  comment  game, the always wonderful  Mamacita, shared that her test of a good novel is that she can project herself into it.

When I read this comment,  I nodded my head in agreement.  It is because of dearly loved novels that I have...

  • experienced the Yorkshire moors
  • lived an adulteress affair in Moscow
  • witnessed death in the American South
  • whispered advice to Mr. Knightley
  • once had a farm in Africa
  • fallen in love with a man with a strange genetic disorder that allows him to travel through time

My list could, of  course, continue. There are many places that I have been, many tears that I have shed,  many lives I have briefly led, simply because of words on a page, offered by the  creative wonder of one writer's imagination. A novel is my passport to this world, and others.

Your turn. Do you project yourself into a much-loved novel? Where has one of your favourite books taken you?
