You have just discovered that one of your favourite bloggers has written a collection of linked short stories, that will soon to be published, and that includes numerous characters that are loosely based on visitors to her blog.
Did you imagine that?
Now, tell us, would you want to read this collection of stories to see if you could try and match the fictional name with the blog persona? Would you hope to find yourself included in one of the stories?
Were you able to even imagine a blogger you know writing such a book?
I think it would be very difficult for most of ..oh, say... *us* to recognize more than a handful of aliases... but maybe our own, yes. I would not mind either way, within compassionate reason. :) Yes... I would imagine a lot of things when it comes to this creative blogosphere! :)

Only if its on the Oprah Book Club.....lol
Don't even watch "O", but if we were sent a link to perhaps view a sample?????

Hell yeah I'd want to read it, wouldn't matter if I would be personified or not. I'd probably have fun trying to guess who everyone is.
And I could totally imagine a blogger writing such a book. Why the heck not, if the kitty bloggers can get together to write two books (second one coming to an online store near you soon...)

Yes, I can imagine it. I'd want to read it, but only to see if I was in it. Being in it would be fun. I'd probably guess at a few characters, but since I don't know any bloggers offline, I wouldn't try to hard to guess who they are.

TOO hard. Sorry.

I can imagine this and it sounds great, but I doubt I'd be in it.

I do imagine it, I might recognize a few, and I doubt I'd be in it (but I'd like it if I were...LOL)

It seems like a premise with potential, but are there other "blog-ring communities" such as this? Is this sort of thing common?
Blogging, per se, seems to be as yet somewhat untouched as a narrative form or as a subject for plot outlines.

I can imagine it--can't imagine DOING it, since I'm not very creative...and I think it would be fun!
I wonder if whoever wrote it would be putting in their true feelings the people involved.
Depending on who the writer was would probably determine whether or not I'd be in it.

You had me at "imagine this"
Posted by: Keith | November 08, 2007 at 09:28 AM
Sounds like fun! I'd love to read it, though I'd never be able to figure out all the characters!
Posted by: Linda | November 08, 2007 at 10:24 AM
Yes, yes and YES!
Posted by: Janet | November 08, 2007 at 12:19 PM
Oh very definitely, though I would be hard pressed to identify other bloggers whose identity has been masked, other than perhaps one or two.
Posted by: Bev | November 08, 2007 at 12:45 PM
Oh, yes i would want to read it and try to match the bloggers and of course I would be the vacuum in the stories.

What a compliment. Well, I guess it would depend on wht you're character turned out to be... :D Might be a fun read... depends on the writer.
Why? You writing one Michele?

Oh, I hope no one's thinking I'll be doing it! My characters are all fiction. Pure fiction.
I learned by watching a fellow writer, who had fictionalized her family and then been confused when they'd returned her wedding invitations with not-so-polite "no thanks." Oops.

I totally want to read it!
Posted by: Stella | November 08, 2007 at 05:39 PM
Oh, and yes, it would be like an internet treasure hunt to figure out who's who...
Posted by: Stella | November 08, 2007 at 05:40 PM
I would just enjoy the stories I think. Sometimes ignorance is bliss and a story is better left a story.

*I'M GONNA BE FAMOUS!!!*
ahem, um, yeah, I could imagine that.

Didn't Caspar already start this with his blogroll? I still haven't figured out which one is me there:-)
Good luck with the book, Michele!

If one of my favorite bloggers got published, I would definitely want to read the book, because my favorite bloggers are my favorites for a reason...(they can write)

I would want to read it- I doubt I'd show up in it though.
