The Word Association Comment Game

Simply post the first word that comes to mind when you read the word in the comment above yours.  The next person will write the word that first comes to mind when they read your word. Sound easy? Oh, of course it does.

The "Hello, Michele Sent Me" Meet 'N' Greet

It is a weekend thing....and yes my weekend does start early.

Thank you to the wonderful people who play multiple times, each of you are guilty of spreading lots of comment cheer - hugs from me.

Spread the Comment Cheer.

The site of the day: the person above you and then you.

How to play:

  • Leave a comment here that says hello.
  • Now, go visit the person who commented above you, leave a comment on their site that includes  the oft-repeated tag-line: Hello, Michele sent me.

Please play along.

Note to the first person commenting: simply say hello to me.

And YES, of course you are invited to play often. As you already know, I encourage that sort of thing. However,  please allow at least five people to play (or at least thirty minutes to pass) before you comment again.

Because I Am Very Curious....

Have you ever been tempted to stop blogging?

Would you write a farewell  post or simply  fade away?  Would you delete your blog or allow the achieves to remain? If you stopped maintaining your blog, would you continue to visit and comment on other blogs? Finally,if you have been tempted to stop blogging, what has made you not yet stop?

Please note that I am very interested in your comments and opinions on this subject. In fact,  this post might  remain  on the top for more than one day.

The All About You Test

Please read the instructions carefully! You are about to take another weekly All About You Test.

After you completed the 5 questions, you have finished the test and you may leave the comment section testing area. But please remember: these on-line "all about you" tests can never be as accurate as tests supervised by trained professionals.

We from All-things-Michele hope you have fun with the test.

Good Luck and best wishes!

  5. When is the last time you looked at a photograph of that special person in your life?

Bonus Question Worth No Points: Will you pretend to miss me while I am away for three days?

This Coming Weekend

No, I will not be attending the much anticipated "BlogHer" convention. However, I want to know: will you be attending it? No, I will not be participating in "Blogathon 2007". However, I want to know: will you be participating?

Yes, I will be out of town for the weekend, and no where near any blog, including my own. However, I want you to know that the Meet n' Greet will be posted as usual.  The comments will be monitored by someone else. Is that vague enough, because, as you know, I strive for vagueness. How am I doing?

Question: If you are not attending or  participating in a blog-related event, what the hell will you be doing this coming weekend? Really, you should share with me, after all, I tell you everything!

Special Reply to Marisa: Yes, I will write another "something about me" post. Very soon.

Caption Contest Number 118

Yes. Another caption contest. You know the rules, yes? You think of a caption for the picture in the extended  post and submit it in the comment section. We at All Things Michele will once again select the best ones (every single one) and award each one (every single one) with an imaginary trophy for their imaginary caption-contest-winner cabinet.

A Blog-Related Question

Imagine this....

You discover that a trusted blog-friend, who has been a regular visitor of yours for several years, has recently created an "alias" to leave amusing, albeit occasionally disruptive comments on your blog. Would  you call her out on it?

Oh, and can you imagine, for even a moment, how I might handle such a situation?

The Nine Letters Game

It is that magical time again. That time when all the letters of the alphabet get to be placed in a pretty row for one of my comment games. Yes, I will pause while you clap your hands in glee. Okay, stop clapping dammit you are holding up the game. Now,what is the current alphabet theme? Nine letter words. Yes, it is time to show off your big word collection.

So, in the spirit of alphabet games may I suest that we create a list of nine letter words, put in alphabetical order of course.

Now begin with the letter A, the next person does B and so on.....

Yes, you can return to play again, after all, there are many nine letter words, correct?

New Site of the Day: My  Own  Little  Reading  Room
Please go say hello to Gautami. She is poetic and intelligent. She is a teacher who is always learning. And, has you already know, or will quickly learn, she is an avid reader who delights in sharing her love of literature.

Two Ways To Play

The Classic Version: Simply visit the site of the day and please do not forget to say Hello, Michele sent me.

The New-Fangled Version: Leave a comment here and then visit  the site of the day AND the person who commented above you. The person who comments after you will visit  the site of the day and you. Again, do not forget to say Hello, Michele sent me. Yes, I will pout if my tag-line is not used.

Please do not  comment here more than once per day. Multiples are reserved for The Weekend Meet N' Greet. Yes, it is my way of keeping you wanting more.

Summer With One Author

This post was written more than two years ago. The words are still true. The questions are still relevant. Please, offer me your recommendations....

Many years ago, I decided to spend the summer reading Jane Austen. It was the summer before I entered university, and although I had read a couple of her books, I had not made the effort to read each of them. It was a wonderful summer where I was transported to the Regency Period of England, and  lost in the social mores of  the pre-Victorians.

Since then, I have tried to make it a summer ritual to pick one author and  read all, or many of their  works. In my mind  particular summers can be framed by Graham Greene, Virgina Woolf, J. M. Coetzee, Carol Shields, Margaret Atwood, Barbara Kingsolver, Rohinton Mistry, and a few others.

Now, I must choose an author to spend the next six weeks with. Any suggestions? What author would you like to spend many weeks reading?

Magic 8 Ball

There are certain moments when you must return to the sage wisdom of the Magic 8 Ball for the answer to your most pressing concerns, and so I did that on your behalf.  Really, it was not a problem and there is no need to thank me.

The Magic 8 Ball Answer:

signs point to yes.

Please remind me: what was your question?

Welcome.....
