It is time to socialise and make small talk.......
How shall we do this?
Let me explain:
The person before you has asked you a question. Now bein a pleasant uest you shall answer. See, small talk! Now, you will want to welcome the next uest by askin a question of them.
It really is as simple as answer and ask. Please remember you are a pleasant uest and this is only small talk, albeit of the amusin kind. Some possible questions miht be
- What book are you readin?
- Where did you et that lovely ensemble?
- Do you think Brad Pitt is over-rated?
- Who was your favourite Bond, James Bond?
Please, keep it non-personal and ask fun questions. And yes you can come back to mix and minle, in fact I encourae it.
When in hih school what were you voted most likely to do or be?
Why, thank you for asking. I was rather normal and unnoticable in high school. I don't think I was voted in for anything. I did not enjoy HS very much, but college was so much more fun.
Not to get too political, but I'm thinking of a vacation in France. Is it a nice place to go, or should I pick a place in the US?
Posted by: joeinvegas | May 11, 2006 at 09:44 PM
Joe, I've never been to France but I've always wanted to. If you can do it, then do it. Enjoy it. Relish it. You can't go wrong with travel.
Ok, who's next? You're sending off a present to the woman (read: mother in law in nursing home)that needs nothing and wants nothing. What do you send?

If she likes to correspond, note cards and postage stamps are nice. If she likes music, then her own CD player with some of her favorite music CD's.
What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Posted by: Sandy J | May 11, 2006 at 09:59 PM
R-E-L-A-X. In my garden (I love playing in the dirt), by the pool, etc. Because my family is on the run all week, we cherish the downtime.
And, for the next person:
What is your favorite season, and why?
Posted by: wordnerd | May 11, 2006 at 10:04 PM
I love autumn...the cool air after the hothot summer, the smell, the beautiful foliage.
If you had to choose between being a ghost, a skeleton or a vampire, which would you choose and why?
Posted by: Janet | May 11, 2006 at 10:20 PM
vampire cause somthing about them is just mysterious and sexy!
If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
Posted by: kristen | May 11, 2006 at 10:30 PM
Some ancient Egyptian Pharoah, any of them.
If money were no object, what one thing would you buy to give to your spouse or Significant Other?
Posted by: kenju | May 11, 2006 at 11:36 PM
A fast car. His choice.
I had a brush with someone famous yesterday. Have you ever had a brush with fame? (And then did you do a post on it, like I did?)
Posted by: Melody | May 12, 2006 at 12:10 AM
His own house. (nothing personal, it's just that we're both territorial.)
Do you still have any stuffed animals on display?
Posted by: Mamacita | May 12, 2006 at 12:12 AM
Oops, I'm too slow.
I saw Wolfman Jack in an airport once. I drive past John Mellencamp's house every day.
Do you still have any stuffed animals on display?
Posted by: Mamacita | May 12, 2006 at 12:13 AM
Me personally, no, but my 4year old has a few on display.
(Mamacita, I saw John Mellencamp in the Target at B'ton mall when I was in college ;)
What is a neat thing about your yard?
Posted by: Jennie | May 12, 2006 at 12:57 AM
Oh! I just got a really cool wrought iron canopy/gazebo thing for my deck, new indoor/outdoor carpet, tons of potted flowers, and new patio furniture! Happy Mother's Day to me!
What is your favorite thing about your mom?
Posted by: Pickalish | May 12, 2006 at 01:11 AM
No matter what the grandkids do, eg torment the cat, dig up her vegetable, pull all the flowers off, they can do no wrong in her eyes. (god help us if we yell at them)
Are you keeping a secret from your partner?
Posted by: Marisa | May 12, 2006 at 02:28 AM
No, but he was trying to keep his from me. That's all over now.
How do you know that God does or does not exist?
Posted by: g8s | May 12, 2006 at 03:20 AM
I'm a bit torn on this one, my mother was a strong believer, but he took her away from me which I struggle to believe was a good thing. I can't prove it either way.
On a more cheerful note, tell me one oddball fact about yourself?
Posted by: Jo-less | May 12, 2006 at 05:54 AM
I was married to a man in prison. That's odd right?
What is your regret in life?
Posted by: keekah | May 12, 2006 at 09:47 AM
Not spending more time with my grandparents when I could.
What is the weirdest thing you've eaten?
Posted by: Yo Tambien Te Mando Besos | May 12, 2006 at 09:53 AM
A fish from a client who offhandedly mentioned later it wasn't from the market but caught by her son in (named lake) which is in a park which prohibits fishing due to the rare species there. Eeeek.
Do you think a dinner party should serve wine and crackers or also some miniature french pastries?
Posted by: Pearl | May 12, 2006 at 02:06 PM
Well, let's see, considering I have what my mom would call caviar taste on a beer budget, no, I don't think a dinner party should server wine, crackers and minature pastries. In fact, it should serve vegetables, dip, and beer.
Do you think 4 months is a significant amount of time to establish a relatioship and leaves you ready for engagement?
Posted by: Amanda | May 12, 2006 at 02:19 PM
Depends on the maturity of the people. I would say no for the most part. I would want to get to know the person and not have a long engagement.
What is the one thing you will not compromise for a near perfect relationship?
Posted by: AOC | May 12, 2006 at 02:26 PM
The person's spirituality. It was the first thing that drew me to my husband and a major thing that binds me to him (other than loving him outrageously).
If your cat insists on lavishing affection on you (purring, head butting, draping himself over your hands) while you're trying to type at your computer, do you indulge him or move him on his way?
Posted by: anniebird | May 12, 2006 at 02:56 PM
Oh, if I had an indoor cat, I'm certain that I would indulge it in a little affection...until it became time to play Michele's Meet & Greet.
Then I'm afraid I would have to send him on his way. With a nice treat, naturally.
So, I was wondering, do you have anything fun planned for this weekend?
Posted by: aka_monty | May 12, 2006 at 03:11 PM
I had a cat who loved to do this. I learned to type with one hand.
Do you have special plans with your mother this weekend?
Posted by: Keb | May 12, 2006 at 03:12 PM
My mom is not alive and my MIL is miles away...so it will be me as the mom surrounded by my kids...which makes me very happy...no matter what we are doing!
Is there a place you have been that moved you to tears?
Posted by: Sparkling Diamond | May 12, 2006 at 03:36 PM
I cried the first time I walked into Lambeau Field.
The Rocky Mountains in Colorado move me to tears every time I see them.
What's the best thing that happened to you today so far?
Posted by: Erin | May 12, 2006 at 04:14 PM
I got my Mother's Day card early and mr. kenju told me he would give me a foot massage tonight. Yay!
Did you plan anything special for your mother tomorrow?
Posted by: kenju | May 13, 2006 at 10:39 AM
not really, i'm meeting her for dinner tonight and will let her spend tomorrow relaxing. this is her first mother's day without her mother, so it's going to be a little strange for her, i'm sure.
when was the last time you took time for yourself and what did you do?
Posted by: monique | May 13, 2006 at 02:21 PM
Last weekend, my roommate went to visit her boyfriend for the night, so I shut myself in the room and read a book all evening. It was glorious.
What's the strangest thing that's happened to you lately?
Posted by: Cate | May 13, 2006 at 08:13 PM
Wow 12 hours without response. Guess everyone has had a terribly normal time or so much unspeakably strange to not be able to rank?
Ok, strange walking down the aisle of grocery store and see someone freeze as I looked away, he turned away and knocked back a handful of food from the bulk boxes into his mouth. I noticed the back of his jacket had those security dye-knobs still attached.
If anyone still coming by this one, did you have a glad mother's day?
Posted by: Pearl | May 14, 2006 at 08:11 PM
(poor attentiveness on my part, guess that's 24 hrs) Everyone' gone home. I'll take out the trash as I shut the lights.
