Dh's first three items were pencil, paper, eraser but he had to change it to pillow, blanket and mattress. In an elevator??? Sure, he's moving, that's what broke the elevator!

OK, I just reread the instructions... it's late... I'M BY MYSELF...OOPS... so number 3 would have to be MY CELL phone so that I could talk to my hubby until my battery ran out!
And if that one isn't good enough, I'd like a GIANT DARK CHOCOLATE BAR to go with the champagne!
Posted by: Last Girl On Earth | May 02, 2005 at 01:43 AM
1. 6-pack beer

1. Don Quixote. Finally, no distractions. Sadly, while I would hope to have it with me, I definitely would not have it with me, as it's far too big and heavy to fit in purse, and this is in fact the main reason that I have not finished it yet, as the books that do fit in my bag have indeed gotten read (though not in elevators).
2. Chocolate.
3. I don't think I need a third item, but make it a pencil in case I feel compelled to make notes on DQ, or write a grocery list, or compose a blog entry about the experience.

Am I the only one whose cell phone doesn't work inside elevators - leaving it off my list of 3 things? Since I was once stuck inside an elevator at my work with one other staff member and 5 mentally unstable teens I work my list from there..
1. Spray deoderant. (to share)
Elevators get STUFFY very quickly.
2. Gum.
3. Somthing to spread on the floor(like a big sheet), because I would really want to sit down but the thought of how disgusting the floors and walls are would prevent me from sitting or even leaning for the whole time, which would lead to me having to go to the bathroom sooner. (I'm not sure why)

This actually happened to me a few years ago, although I was trapped with a dozen other people. From that experience this is what you really need:
1. A sense of humour
2. Something to drink (water, coke, whatever)
3. An alarm to call for assistance
Posted by: kimbofo | May 02, 2005 at 09:22 AM
flashlight(just in case the power is off)
cellphone

My initial response was a book and some water and some snacks. But then I saw someone else's response of pillow and blanket and I thought hell no! That would be prime napping time--by myself!
So Pillow, Blanket and a mattress for good measure.

This is true: I got stuck on an elevator once. When it stopped my first thought was, "Do I have to go to the bathroom?" So my 3 things are a blue Johnny on the Job, Chocolate and a broken cell phone--leave me alone for a little while.
