Have you ever eaten somethin beyond the expiration date? Do you use domestic or imported lavender for your potpourri? Have you ever been involved in a slow speed car chase? Do you purchase or make your own ourmet ice cubes? When is the last time you did the hokey-pokey?
1. Yes. Lettuce, milk, bread. Never more than a day or so past. Always do the smell test. Is that gross?
2.Potpourri--that would get eaten by somebody if it were lying around in this house.
3. No.
4. No, but do you, Michele? Are you getting that sophisticated in the kitchen now?
5. Probably at some birthday party sometime in the last six months. Don't know, really. Somewhere between a week ago and six months ago.

1. Oh yes. Especially eggs.
2. LOL. No.
3. Not that I remember.
4. My daughter has some colorful plastic water-filled cubes in the freezer--do they count? They were purchased.
5. Probably at some school-sponsored skating party about 3 years ago. Unless I had to too much to drink at a wedding since then and have forgotten doing it.

I'm first? Too bad I don't have more exciting answers.
1. Yes, bagged salad, and I don't recommend it.
2. Domestic, by the pound from: www.ItsMyNature.net
3. No, except there was that one time I pretended not to see the cop car behind me, lights flashing.....
4. I have made red-wine ice cubes.
5. I did the hokey-pokey when my children were in elementary school.
Posted by: kenju | April 30, 2005 at 12:01 AM

Posted by: kenju | April 30, 2005 at 12:02 AM
1) Yes, probably yogurt and sour cream and other dairy items.
2) Um, I just don't know how to answer that! :)
3) Yes, but I was young and needed the money
4) I am a whiz at the ice cube making, people pay me for my cubes.
5) I blocked it from my memory.
Posted by: Kate | April 30, 2005 at 12:06 AM
1) I'm pretty picky, but I'm sure it's happened, especially with eggs.
2) Not a big potpouri fan. I use granular insence or essential oils.
3) Nope. Oh, they boring life I lead.
4) I have a handy-dandy ice cube maker in my fridge. It filters the water and everything! (Admit it, you're jealous.
5) Damn, I have no freaking clue. Probably not since elementary school.
Posted by: Samantha | April 30, 2005 at 12:40 AM
1)Most definitely: sour cream, yogurt, pickles, a very rare carton of milk
2)Lavender has a pedigree?
3)You mean like on a bad episode of 'COPS'? Nah, I'm too stupid, I'd probably try to outmaneuver 'em.
4)Neither (what makes an ice cube 'gourmet'? evian?)
5)Can't be too sure on the when, but without a doubt it was at a wedding. I'm sure of it!
Posted by: Jim | April 30, 2005 at 12:40 AM

5. kindergarten?
Posted by: notyourtypicalsouthernbelle | April 30, 2005 at 02:26 AM
1. Milk, packaged soups, bread.
2. I do not have potpourri, I normally burn essential oils.
3. No, not that I am aware of.
4. I have made fresh juice ones for summer.
5. Funny you should ask that question Michele, yesterday at work for fun, we were hanging out at lunchtime and someone mentioned Hokey Pokey, we all did an impromptu version, it was great fun.
Posted by: vegemiterules | April 30, 2005 at 02:33 AM
1. Yes, lots of things.
2. Not pot-pourri, just lavender - fresh organic lavender - from our garden.
3. Most days...
4. Rarely gourmet ones, but I do buy those excellent re-usable ones from French supermarkets that are useful to chill a drink quickly without diluting it. And in previous years were good for making my young nephew laugh, as I would lean towards him with a leer and say 'would you like BALLS in your drink?'.
5. Is that the same as Hokey Cokey? If so I did a bit of one the other day on my kitchen step with my auntie.
Posted by: Zinnia Cyclamen | April 30, 2005 at 03:34 AM
1. Eggs, if they dont float in a bowl of water they're still ok, milk if it smells ok, apples if they are not losing skin tone. Nothing beyond a couple of days over the date, but we all know the dates are printed to take into account the worst handling, so that the companies cant be sued. Look after stuff and most of it is good for another 2 or 3 days.
2. Potpourri is a pet hate of mine - bowls of dust-catching flakes just asking to be knocked down and taking up space. Not my thing at all.
3. No
4. Whats a gourmet ice cube? I am in the UK, so ice cubes are rarely an issue and we never need more than a small homemade tray.
5. Oooh, must have been someone's retirement, so maybe a decade ago.
Waah, I'm not much fun on this one, am I! Hic, sob....
Posted by: Cheryl | April 30, 2005 at 05:07 AM
1. Nope. Never!
2. Love the stuff but don't use it.
3. No.
4. If I need them, I make them.
5. Over 15 years ago at least!
Gee, ain't I boring? xx
Posted by: Carrie | April 30, 2005 at 07:22 AM
1. I've eaten yogurt waaaaay past the expiration date, and lived. Yeh!
2. Potpourri or scented candles and perfumes all bother my senses.
3. Does a funeral procession count?
4. I don't do ice. Even diamonds don't attract this girl.
5. The last time you did the hokey-pokey was entirely too long ago.
Posted by: Pearl | April 30, 2005 at 08:13 AM
1. Have you ever eaten something beyond the expiration date?

2. Do you use domestic or imported lavender for your potpourri?

Okay Martha Stewart, here goes:
1) Yes. Yoghurt quite definitely.
2) I don't make potpourri. I don't buy potpourri. I love the smell of bleach. In fact I can't even spell potpourri. I had to copy and paste the word.
3) Unless you count little battery-operated cars with failing batteries running around on the floor, no. (Mine ran down first, so I guess you could say that in some cosmic battery-operated universe that I am serving a sentence of oh, about 10 years.)
4) Honey, I don't even purchase or make ice. I just fling my soda directly into the freezer. Cut out the middleman is my motto.
5) A wedding in the early 80's.
Call me Cro-Mag.
Posted by: MaxedOutMama | April 30, 2005 at 09:12 AM
1. yes...cheese
2. neither...can't stand the smell of lavender although I love the color!~
3. Does having someone follow me count?
4. Make them
5. Yesterday with Hokey-pokey Elmo..isn't that what it's really all about? ;)
Posted by: J&J's Mom | April 30, 2005 at 09:20 AM
1. Do Twinkies REALLY expire? Actually, probably not.
2. It truly depends on which lavendar becomes more affordable.
3. No... had my son try to cover up the fact I was racing him as I started to speed by a police officer. The officer HAD to be enjoying a donut to miss that.
4. Make our own, always. Ice cubes are one thing we don't risk quality on.
5. Uhm.. well, I plead the fifth.
Posted by: Sol | April 30, 2005 at 09:41 AM
Have you ever eaten something beyond the expiration date?
---sure. the expiration date is just a suggestion. ;)
Do you use domestic or imported lavender for your potpourri?
---say what?
Have you ever been involved in a slow speed car chase?
---yes and ouch.
Do you purchase or make your own gourmet ice cubes?
---I make my own tap water ice cubes? they're divine.
When is the last time you did the hokey-pokey?
---It's been a LONG TIME.

1. In my home, chocolate often reaches and exceeds its expiration date because I am allergic, but then gets eaten past its expiration date because I am desperate.
2. I don't use potpourri that contains lavender at all. Chamomile is more soothing to me.
3. I've followed people driving in front of me, but just to keep from getting lost.
4. I make homemade ice cubes from scratch. It's a really easy recipe. Start with water, and add cold and time.
5. Last time I packed for a trip. I put it all in, then I took it all out, then I put it all in, and I shook it all about.
Posted by: golfwidow | April 30, 2005 at 10:14 AM
1) 'expiration' date? I thought that was the 'let ripen till' date.
2) I don't know. I will have to check the can of Lysol to see where they get their sent.
3) No, but I was involved in an extra-medium speed car chase once.
4) do icicles count?
5) Honest to god, on Wednesday.
Posted by: Dingo | April 30, 2005 at 10:18 AM
1. Yes, eggs.
2. Egads...domestic lavender? NEVER!
3. Yes, I got into a road rage incident with a senior citizen. He chased me through a parking lot at a blazing 15mph
4. We make our own here.
5. The last time I did the hokey pokey was when I realized the hokey pokey is NOT what its all about. I haven't been able to do it since then - I'm too disillusioned.
Posted by: christine | April 30, 2005 at 10:39 AM
1. Yep. Milk. And have used some slightly elder eggs for baking & such. But nothing too extreme, despite the apparent mental damage ;)
2. Um, I dunno. Whatever Albertson's sells. I'm not even sure there's lavender in it.
3. Oh yeah. It lasted about 15 minutes, covered 1/4 mile, and ended exactly where it started.
4. Why, I make them of course! But my idea of "gourmet" is tap water in a plastice cube tray.
5. I'm doing it right now! By myself, though. But just because you mentioned it!
Posted by: Phil | April 30, 2005 at 11:20 AM
1. Yes -- I use the expiration date as a guideline
2. I used to grow my own lavender, but it was French, so not sure how you would classify that
3. If you count the "chase" I led my husband on when we were dating
4. Make my own -- I'm the Martha Stewart of Eden Prairie!
5. Yesterday at the office as I was trying to get out early
Posted by: Shannin | April 30, 2005 at 12:00 PM
1. Noooooo...I am really weirded out by expired food...
2. Neither...reactive airway makes potpourri a bad idea for me. Which sucks, because I like the aromas.
3. Does trying to keep up with my dad while he crept his Blazer along at 20 mph count?
4. Our freezer makes its own cubes...we're too lazy for anything else.
5. Hokey pokey? Is that some kinda sex game...? ;)
Posted by: Thumper | April 30, 2005 at 01:42 PM
1. Probably. But, if I did, I didn't realize that it was expired. I have a big fear of food poisoning.
2. The only room that I have potpourri in is my master bathroom. I purchased that from a store called Linens-N-Things. It has a grape kool-aid smell. I'm not real "big" on lavender unless it's natural.
3. Not with the police but I've chased people who have ticked me off in my car and it wasn't very slow..lol...of course, that was in my younger and dumber years.
4. I don't make them but my refrigerator has a water filter system that takes inpurities out of the water and ice cubes that we get out of the fridge. Mine cubes just spit out the front of my fridge.
5. About a month ago...my son and I were being silly.
Posted by: Cara | April 30, 2005 at 02:10 PM
1. Only at my mother's house.
2. LOL, I only use the finest dirty dishes and laundry.
3. Actually, yes, when I forgot to engage the brake on my car...
4. Purchase, I have gobs of disposable income.
5. I plead the 5th.
Posted by: MongaKim | April 30, 2005 at 02:45 PM
1. yep, cheese, oj, various otc medicines...
2. imported! is there any other?
3. if i count as the "chaser" - yes.
4. depends on how many i need... a few for me and the family i'll make, more for a party i'll buy.
5. last night... and i'm thinking about doing it again right NOW!
Posted by: monique | April 30, 2005 at 03:19 PM
1) I'm sure I have, but I can't remember specifics.
2) Neither. I don't like the smell of lavender.
3) I've been the "pursuer," never the "pursuee."
4) Make my own. Nothing like some homemade Evian ice cubes. Yum yum.
5) Yesterday. I'm still shakin' it all about. :)
Posted by: Brandie | April 30, 2005 at 04:46 PM
Hi, Michele, I'm going to be really silly and answer this "all about me" quiz AS IF I were my 6 year old son. Why? Well, because I'm really silly, aren't you paying attention?...
--------------------------
1. I eat what my mom gives me and I'm not sure about this "Xpiration" thing... Is that like something X-men eat?! That would be cool! Where can I get some?
2. What did you just say? Poop-a-what? Poop-and-pee?! Michele's got a potty mouth, Michele's got a potty mouth!...
3. Once I lined up all my Hot Wheels across the kitchen floor and I made them all follow each other into the livingroom. It was slow because I had to move them all myself. Does that count?
4. Duh, just yesterday, of course. We do the hokey-pokey EVERY Friday for "Fun Friday exercise time" in kindergarten. Sometimes Katie sticks her arm in too far and she hits me. But I still like her.
(... and that's what it's all about! *clap, clap*)
--------------------------
Right, I'll go back to the meet & greet and be less silly now.. ;)

Do you purchase or make your own gourmet ice cubes? What? No.

Oh yeah. Regretted it sometimes, too.
Do you use domestic or imported lavender for your potpourri?
Potpourri?? What is this "potpourri" you speak of?
Have you ever been involved in a slow speed car chase?
Well, it took me about two blocks to figure out that the cop meant ME once...

Sometime in the 1970's, I think.
Posted by: SilverDragon | April 30, 2005 at 07:22 PM
Have you ever eaten something beyond the expiration date? Yes! Usually yogurt or cheese. Yogurt is good well past the date. When I worked in the dairy section at the supermarket I was allowed to take home the ones that I liked when they were past shelf date. This was a nice bonus.
Do you use domestic or imported lavender for your potpourri? How do you come up with these? Heh. I don't have potpourri, but if I did it would come out of a bag that you could purchase at say, walmart!
Have you ever been involved in a slow speed car chase?
Nope. But if I had imported lavender I doubt I would be in one either.
Do you purchase or make your own gourmet ice cubes? No but I have made jello shots in ice trays before, does that count?
When is the last time you did the hokey-pokey? Gradeschool?
Posted by: rebeka | April 30, 2005 at 07:56 PM
1. Have you ever eaten something beyond the expiration date? Yeah...I think it was an accident though.
2. Do you use domestic or imported lavender for your potpourri? I LOATHE anything lavender or cinnamon scented!
3. Have you ever been involved in a slow speed car chase? Probably.
4. Do you purchase or make your own gourmet ice cubes? You see, this is how you ended up with that $70 paring knife! :)~~~~
5. When is the last time you did the hokey-pokey? A few months ago when Hubby and I went out on a date to a skating rink. I felt really silly.
Posted by: lani | April 30, 2005 at 09:26 PM
1. Yes, many things.
2. I clip lavender from the plants in my front yard. That certainly SOUNDS domestic, doesn't it?
3. Yes, following a friend who should not have been driving home.

5. hmmm hokey pokey ... don't remember exactly when, but it might have been at a staff meeting.

Have you ever eaten something beyond the expiration date? Not since I married my husband, he's made me paranoid.
Do you use domestic or imported lavender for your potpourri? Huh?

Do you purchase or make your own gourmet ice cubes? Neither
