A random statement:
"I'd love to see selected comments from you on this site." Kimbofo
Well, okay. I selected the current daily three thins post, which had twenty-five comments at the time, and offered comments on the comments. And yes, I will do it aain soon. This was fun.
A Somewhat Long List of Replies:
Tammy: The is very few things I enjoy more than spending the day at the beach. Lucky you! Well, lucky you, except for the sunburn.
Pearl: Staying home listening to music is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday (or any day for that matter). I have all of Diana Krall's CD's . However, I do not think I know who Zap Mama is. So please...tell me.
About Before Sunset: I did read in the credits that Delpy was one of the screenwriters - but I did not know that she had a CD. Other trivia: he man and woman that Celine speaks to in the courtyard of her apartment are played by Julie Delpy's real parents.
MommaK: Does your Mother like her new home? Her last post about the memories of the home she was leaving was very poignant. I was going to ask you to say hello to her from me...but I will simply visit her blog and say hello for myself. Later this evening I will have a glass of Merlot and blame you for the inspiration.
Erin: You worked out for two hours? Okay, now I am tired from just thinking of that. Oh wait, I went shopping for two hours...can that count as a work-out? I gained ten pounds during my first year of university. I would like to blame the beer but I did not drink beer....so let me blame the French pastry shop that was in the neighbourhood. Heck, it beats blaming myself.
Tammy/averagemom: You watched Potty time with Bear in The Big Blue House? Damn, I didn't know that was out on DVD yet. Actually, I would trade with you in a moment. You are lucky...and you know it!
Tanya: First, let me say that I hope you are no longer upset with your husband...I am certain he hopes for this also. Now, puppies! Did you say puppies? I want to know about the puppies. Please.
Terrilynn: The fact that you like Gilead proves to me that I chose wisely. And yes, I know that you have played the meet n' greet a few times. I truly do appreciate the many people who play several times because as I have often said...I encourage that sort of thing.
Phil: I shall never brag again about my sharp knife. In fact there was a warning inside the knife box that read: DO NOT PERMIT PHIL USE. Now that warning makes sense. Shh, don't tell anyone but it also said HA HA you bought a seventy dollar knife.
The question is...did you cut yourself while gathering roses for your Mother?
Lynda: Ooooh, I love watching other people barbecue and then eat it. I also like to watch them clean the barbecue while I do nothing but watch them. And you cannot just say paint ceramics without telling me what you are making....well, actually, you can and did, but I still wish to know.
Mike: it sounds like you had a wonderful day. Is your review online? And if you ever found me would you kindly return me to my human?
Lani: My Mr Wonderful speaks Russian among many other languages. Yesterday he said something in one of his languages when I told him about my knife....I like to imagine that he said "very wise purchase Ms. Adorable." Yet, it seem to have a sarcastic tone about it.
And yes you are sweet.....there was never a doubt.
Kenju: It sounds like you had a wonderful day. Now, I have a flower request for you: if I send you a picture of a wedding dress would you offer a floral suggestion? How magical it must be to spend your working hours surrounded by flowers.
Raehan: it sounds like you had a wonderful day. You are so lucky to live by the ocean. Please do let me know if you do watch Before Sunset...I am very interested in your opinion about that film.
Ben: You have wonderful taste in movies and cities. Of course, the fact that we agree proves that we both have wonderful taste. Paris is on my shortlist of favorite cities. My father's family is from France and I simply adore most-things French. I imagine that you would take glorious photos of Paris. Have you also seen Before Sunrise?
Samantha: Your three things made me laugh. Still, you were up before the strike of noon...you should be proud of that. Oh, and as your sister-in-aw would know, the seventy dollar knife was mid-range in price. There were many that were double that price - now that is foolishness. You choose paying a bill over buying a paring knife? How practical of you!
Zinnia Cyclamen: Oh my goodness. Can I come to your place for dinner....I will bring my own knife. Your meal sounds wonderful. Does your local market carry all of these wonderful veggies or do you shop at a specialty market? And where did you get the recipe for clementine cake? Is it your won? A secret family recipe? From a much-loved cookbook? Please tell me.
Melody: When you go to a funky hairstylist do you get a funky haircut or is it simply the ambiance that is funky? Oh, I must tell you....several weeks ago a friend mentioned the painter Monet and I said I know someone who named her little girl Monet...and then we both ooh' d and aah'd over what a glorious name it is. See, you knew I was talking behind your back, didn't you? (wink).
Kisane: Yes, I am aware that a pedicure must be accompanied by shoe shopping. I am also aware that great thought must be placed into choosing the perfect nail colour. After all, the happiness of ten toes relies on such decisions. You were at the party until 2 am....why did you leave so early? (wink)
Franchini: Now I have a new set of three questions just for you...1. What did you give your daughter for her birthday? 2. What book did you just finish? 3. Yes, I will let you know what I thought of the book. Okay, number three was not a question...so I fudged a little, will you forgive me? ha, it was there is the third question.
M.C. Glammer: You did all of this in one day? Yay you. It all sounds wonderful. You should be very proud of submitting the script. Now please imagine me worshiping at the feet of your finishing skills.....you will worship at the feet of my worshiping skills, yes?
Suzanne: Soft silk camis sound like a glorious purchase when compared to a paring knife. What kind of store is Express; besides of course a place to purchase wonderful silk camis? And of course you did not have to go out for it to be a wonderful Saturday evening...ah, but you know that.
Mr. L: You do know that it would be much more amusing if you had practiced the fish rather than the instrument, yes? Well, do tell...is your brother-in-law's dag Gay? Celtics and packers...that sounds vaguely familiar; it has something to do with sports, yes?
Maryse: It sounds like you had a lovely day. I have never watched The Gilmore Girls, yest I have been told that it's charm lies in the dialogue of the main character. Is this true? By the way brunch is one of my favourite weekend meals. Lucky you.
Updated....
notyourtypicalsuotherbelle: I loved the book Under the Tuscan Sun, have you read it? And I agree that the scenes in the movie were simply glorious. The book made me want to plan a trip a trip to Tuscany; the film made me long for a villa there. If you have not read the book consider doing so...the detailed descriptions are wonderful.
hey michelle, thanks for the comment on your comment. i'm new to the gilmore girls. i watched season 1 and 2 on dvd and became instantly hooked. yes, the dialogue is probably the major draw. but an attraction for me is the whole look of the show. i love the house they live in. i fantasize about living in such a quaint small new england town.

Hi Michele.
1. My daughter's present was a new bicycle and she and I hit the park just as the gates were opening this morning. She is absolutely thrilled with it.
2. The book I just finished was The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. The first half was great. The second half was good, but more than a little contrived.
3. Yes of course.

Hi Michele-
Yes, my mother loves her new home. Thanks so much for asking. It was sad saying goodbye to our house of almost 25 years, but she has no regrets.
During the last hectic month, she has not kept up on her blog and now is without internet access for a week or so. I'm sure she'll pick it up again once she gets settled as she loved the friends & support she found through blogging. I'll pass along your kind thoughts.
I'm always glad to be your inspiration;-)

Thank you for commenting on our comments. And yes, I will let you know what I think of Before Sunset when I see it.

Michele, I would certainly be happy to sugggest the type of bouquet you might want for your wedding. It would also be helpful to know what color your attendant's dresses will be and whether you want color in your bouquet.
Yes, you are correct, it is indeed a pleasure to be surrounded by fresh flowers, and I am always grateful for the ability to work among and with them. If people knew how much I loved it, they would make me pay them for the privilege!

Hi, Michele... about the barbecue - it was fabulous and a whole array of stuff - ribs, sausage, chicken, grilled squash, bell peppers, onions, asparagus, and pineapple. The ceramics - I painted two pasta bowls and will do 2 more in the future. I painted a gradation of yellow to orange - I think it will be bright and "sunny."

Hi, Michele -
1. Simply a matter of convenience; I have several basses around the house but no fish.
2. My brother-in-law's dog does jump for my crotch whenever I visit their house, so ... hey, I don't know. :)
3. Celtics/Pacers...basketball. Ah, but you knew that..

I need to get my eyes checked. I thought your title said "A Long List of Reptiles,"and then I thought those were rather strange names for snakes ...
Sigh.

My haircut was not funky. The 'ambiance' of the hairdressers is. It is a famous hairdressers in the Melbourne suburb of St. Kilda. The only thing I don't really like about it is that hairdressers here come and go and by the time I usually book in to get my haircut, the previous hairdresser has moved on or it is their day off!
And yes, I was wondering several weeks ago why my ears were burning...*grin*

Hi Michele, the clementine cake is Nigella Lawson's and you can find it here http://nigella.com/recipes/recipe.asp?article=174. It's very easy, and gluten free which can be useful. I used a refinement suggested in the wonderful Green & Black's chocolate cookbook (see http://www.1000dinners.org.uk/22.html), and grated a 100g bar of their Maya Gold chocolate (70% cocoa solids with orange and spice) over the top as soon as I took it out of the oven, so it all melted in. That was well worth doing. It is also, truly, better the day after it is made. If you can wait that long!

Hi Michele, I'm recovering from the sunburn...and because I'm so smart, I went out yesterday to the Country Fest and got more sunburn! I've posted a small video clip if you want to peek.
This commenting on commenting on comments is kinda fun! :)

Hi Michele, just realised I forgot to answer your question about where we get the veggies - mostly from the local supermarket, all the salad leaves (except the romaine) from our garden, leeks from the garden too. Top Bloke is a top organic vegetable gardener and I am a lucky little flower!
