When I was nineteen my bad-irl-self yearned for a tattoo. My ood-irl-self was too uptiht at the time. My mother reads this blo,in fact she left her first comment yesterday, so please let us all pretend that I always have been and remain all ood and no bad. Oh wait, what the hell, my mother actually knows me and will not believe for a moment that I do not have a bad-irl-streak. In fact, my mother has a tattoo and she is a very bad - in a ood-irl kinda way.
Actually, it is no loner considered a bad-irl or bad-boy thin to have one or more tattoos. In fact many of the cool kids have one.
Do you? If so tell us more.
If not, have you ever considered ettin a tattoo?
Oh, and of course we want details.... where is it or where would it be, and what does it depict?
I would have all KINDS of tattoos, from cartoons to my boy's names to ... who knows ... except for one, tiny little detail.
needles make me freak.
Same reason I never considered a career as a drug addict.

No tattoo for me - it's just too perminent. How do I know I'm going to love it in 20 years as much as I do now?
Instead I opted for a piercing, because that can come out. I had my navel pierced when I was 21, and it is still there (although not looking nearly as nice as it did then!)

I'm 42, and I've wanted one for a few years now.
Except that my son has forbidden me from getting one. Something about the ink leading to blood poisoning, and then I might DIE! I can't remember..
I don't know what I want for the symbol, but it'd be small, tasteful - and probably on my instep. Which is a strange place, I know - but I like my feet!

Ah Michele
When I was a Navy lad my friends talked me into a visit to the tattoo parlour (well I was 18) I left 2 hours later with a black panther jumping out of my left calf. I still like it to this day :)

a little late to this party...
i have 3 with my next 3 planned...
first was/is the triple goddess symbol )o( on my ankle, second was the outline of a mayflower (the flower, not the ship) on my wrist, last was a raven just above the goddess symbol.
my next on will be a stag's head with a bow tangled in it's antlers. after that there's a tree of life that kinda looks like a skull and a maze that has some important dates in it.
they're addictive...

Wanted: Minnie Mouse pushing a lawnmower at the edge of hairline on abdomen or maybe weilding a weed wacker, which would be more in line with Tall Poppy theories (wacking weeds).

I've had many tattoos over the years. Flowers, birds, etc. My daughter (now ten) and I usually got them at the same time. All the temporary kind you put on with a washcloth. I don't even do those anymore and have NO desire for the real thing.

I want one very badly, I just don't know what I want it to be. I would like to have it on my back, so that it is in a place I can show people without being arrested for public indecency, but where I don't have to show it if I don't want to. Kind of high on the back of one shoulder. Now, if I could just decide on a design...

I want and will someday have a six inch tall Tinkerbell on my lower back. I need something to decorate myself since I'm not the bejeweled and bedazzled type!

I've got one on my right shoulder of a moon/stars/clouds thing.
I was thinking of getting something earth based on my lower back and something sea based on my left ankle.
Not sure when I could find the time, or rationalize the $$$ to do it.

i have two. when i was 16 i got my ex-fiancee's initials "RJ" where my upper theigh creases when i sit down. after i left him, i covered it up with a pink rose and red heart, which is kind of a celebration of being a girl. right before i turned 19 i found a faerie i really liked online. i modified it and got her on my lower back. she stands for nature, heaven, and femininity.

bravo! have any of you tattooed trendy morons ever thought about maybe, just maybe taking an image that means so much to you and perhaps putting it in a frame and hanging it on the wall? Tattoos, yes everyone seems to have them now, men and women. pathetic clowns. shallow empty inked goons. trendy. thanks for being a true individual. what the next bandwagon you're gonna jump on? mass suicide? thin the herd asap.

my my kim such bile, its not the point to belong to a mass anymore, its about personal expression. Oh yes it was taboo long ago but like being openly gay, people get used to it. Oh and thanks for using the internet to express your opinion, if you didn't use it like the rest of us we wouldn't be able to hear your selfish whining.
As for moi, i want to have the word FAITH across the top of my back just below my neck (which is generally where you find it), i'm not religous or even particularly spiritual but really in the best and worst of times what else is there. Just a matter now of finding the font and size.

My first tatto ws done when i was 15.It was a self done tattoo with a needle and pen ink.It is an Anarchy A with my name across the bottom.now at the age of 16 I have my family crest on my chest,my last name on my stomach, and a tribal tattoo on my right arm.I don't see anything wrong with tattooing. Some people take it a bit far but thats what they want and there shouldn't be any problem with that.

I have four tats. I got my first one on my ankle which is a blue rose when I was 18 and my second that is a barbedwire heart around my bellybutton and the third one on my left shoulder a tribal rose that is blue and my biggest one on my lower back that is a tribal butterfly. I have one drawed up now that is tribal with three flowers that I designed myself that I am gonna get on my left lower leg. Then I want a big pxie or fairy on my back. And I plan on getting my tongue pierced again.

I HAVE A NEW TAT(3 WEEKS AGO)ON MY RIGHT SHOULDER BLADE. I DESIGNED IT MYSELF, AND IT COMMEMORATES THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. IT IS 4 SYMBOLS WHICH WOULD HAVE MEANING ONLY TO THE TWO OF US, BUT WHICH I HAVE MADE TO READ THE WORD 'LOVE'. NO-ONE BUT MY LOVE WILL EVER KNOW IT'S TRUE SIGNIFICANCE.WE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO BE A COUPLE AND THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN HAVE HIM WITH ME ALL THE TIME. I HAVE LOVED HIM FOR 30 YEARS, AND I AM NOW 58, SO ....NEVER TOO OLD.
