When I was nineteen my bad-irl-self yearned for a tattoo. My ood-irl-self was too uptiht at the time. My mother reads this blo,in fact she left her first comment yesterday, so please let us all pretend that I always have been and remain all ood and no bad. Oh wait, what the hell, my mother actually knows me and will not believe for a moment that I do not have a bad-irl-streak. In fact, my mother has a tattoo and she is a very bad - in a ood-irl kinda way.
Actually, it is no loner considered a bad-irl or bad-boy thin to have one or more tattoos. In fact many of the cool kids have one.
Do you? If so tell us more.
If not, have you ever considered ettin a tattoo?
Oh, and of course we want details.... where is it or where would it be, and what does it depict?
You'd think that you would have told us YOUR MOTHER reads this before I went on leaving 3 months worth of risque' comments.
I guess I won't explain the rooster tattoo on my ankle.

Y'know, I must be one of the few people these days who has *no* interest in a tattoo. Just does not appeal in the least. Now my 13 year old daughter, however, dreams of a butterfly on her ankle... *shudder*

Opiate Poppy, my dear Opiate Poppy, MY MOTHER reads this HOPING that there are at least a few risque comments in the mix. So, please continue being your charming self...

I have two tattoos - a peach on my ankle. I LOVE that one. My brother went with me to get it done. I'm a georgia native and therefore a true georgia peach. Funny tho - I ended up getting my ga. peach tatt in FLORIDA! lol..... I have a second tattoo on my right arm but it's kinda hard to describe. You'd have to actually look at it but it goes around my arm and it hurt - BAD. There's a pic of the tattoo on my blog. That tattoo was a drunken "OOPS". Eventually it'll get removed, or not - I dunno. Depends if I hit the lottery one day so I can AFFORD to have it removed. Btw, your site is becoming an addiction of mine - lol, but that's a good thing - take care, Nikki

...ok then.
The rooster is so I can scratch my ankle and tell people it's because my cock itches.

Yes, I have a very dainty little rose tatooed on the inside of my right ankle. I made sure it was small enough to cover with a little round band-aid in case I ever get into a situation where it shouldn't be seen. So far, I never have felt the need to hide it ... and I've had it for almost (gulp) 20 years.

I've wanted a tattoo for years, but I never could quite settle on what I wanted. I still want one, but at the age of 38, I'm afraid I may have missed my window of opportunity.
Posted by: kalisah | January 20, 2005 at 02:59 PM
I plan on getting a small tatoo of this wierd kinda tree on my lower leg, anyone who knows how the symbol on the Windhurst Federation's flag looks like, i'm getting that :)
Posted by: Jimmy | January 20, 2005 at 03:05 PM
I don't have tatoos. Nope ain't gonna get one neither. I'm going to heaven the same way they sent me out.

I have a tattoo on my right upper arm. It's a very traditional design with a heart and a scroll with my beloved's name. I love, he loves it.
I love tattoos (loads of them) on men! A cousin once told me that tattos are only for sailors and trollops- she got that right!
Posted by: ms. mac | January 20, 2005 at 03:28 PM
No, but I want one. Actually, I want two.
Posted by: Mamacita | January 20, 2005 at 03:28 PM
I have a butterfly (side view) on my left ankle, and when I reach my goal weight I plan to get another tat on my lower back.
Posted by: rebeka | January 20, 2005 at 03:28 PM
I have two, both of which I designed myself - a polynesian inspired design on my right shin, about 2" long by 1" wide at the widest point. I've had that one 4 years. And I have a treskill on the base of my spine, but again I drew it myself so it's somewhat simplified by comparison with the treskills you'd see in most tattoo parlours. I'd love another - a larger one on my upper arm, with some colour perhaps. Better get drawing!
Incidentally, Kalisah, I had my first tattoo when I was 34!

I have no tattoos, but I do plan on getting a tattoo of the Chinese symbol for "Tattoos are awesome." People will ask me, "What does your tattoo say?" And I'll be like, "TATTOOS ARE AWESOME!" They'll be like, "No really, what does it say?" and I'll be like, "No, seriously, it says tattoos are awesome."

i have 2 tattoos. 2 red flowers (that i designed) on my left foot near my big toe & a little bee on my right lower back/almost butt region.
i was going to get a paw print (i went to uga--go dawgs!) on my bikini line but the night i chose to go the tattoo artist was being santa in the xmas parade! haha
Posted by: natalie | January 20, 2005 at 03:35 PM
i have 4 tattoos! i love tattoos! lol i have one on the back of my neck, its a 4 leaf clover. one on my low back is just a tribal design, a turtle on my calf and heart with a cross inside with a certain someones initials on either side! i was 15 when i got and that certain someone is long gone! DUMB! so dumb. i will get it changed into an ankle band eventually.
Posted by: hols | January 20, 2005 at 03:38 PM
I have thought about it before and wanted sun, moon and stars on my right shoulder.....and guess what? Still thinking about it! :)
Posted by: Cecilia | January 20, 2005 at 03:38 PM
In college I wanted to get a tattoo but I couldn't even afford garbage bags, so of course how was going to pay for my tattoo? It was going to be of a snake that wrapped around my ankle three times and then curved up the back of my calf.
Posted by: lisa | January 20, 2005 at 03:45 PM
I have 9 tattoos. I had seven done in one day, and another one 2 days later. The last one I had more recently. I have a daisy on one upper arm and the Japanese symbol for woman and a celtic bar on the other. On my shoulder blades I have 2 abstract designs. I have a smiley sun on one ankle and a dolphin on the other, a heart on my left boob, and Tigger on my lower back. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but if I could afford to have them removed I would only keep Tigger and the daisy.
Posted by: Annie | January 20, 2005 at 03:45 PM
I have one which was a wedding present from my husband and is a heart and banner with his initials, but different than most as it is my own design, it is on my lack of cleavage and about the size of a half dollar. I haven't had it colored yet though as I can't decide between kelly blue and kelly green. Next year I am getting another though I have yet to finalize my decsion on what and where.
Posted by: Camellia | January 20, 2005 at 03:46 PM
I have a heart with a daggger through it on my hip. I want an arm band but I fear it will look silly when I am in my eighties.
Posted by: Connie | January 20, 2005 at 03:47 PM
I like tattoos.
I got one in the navy, of a dolphin smoking a cigarette after being with another dolphin in bed.
Its a cool tattoo.

Found you on BlogExplosion, and I'm diggin' it.
I myself have 12 tattoos, 13 if you count the covered-up one, and I love them all. I'll be getting one more for kids (if I ever have them), and I've made my husband promise to get one too. He's got one teeny-tiny bird on his arm, and I always tell him that I am cooler.
Which is silly, because I'm the one who paid a stranger to poke me with a needle lots of times.
Posted by: Queenie | January 20, 2005 at 04:04 PM
I wanted a couple but I am too chicken. Had nothing to do with being a good girl or bad girl and everything to do with the thought of a needle jabbing me hundreds of times. So, I was content with Cracker Jack ones, you know, you cover a spot on your arm with spit and hold the fancy, yet almost unidentifiable paper on your arm then hoped you didn't smear it when you pulled the paper off your arm.
Posted by: Sol | January 20, 2005 at 04:15 PM
Nope, never wanted one.
Posted by: Karen | January 20, 2005 at 04:19 PM
I have five siblings, and we all have the same tattoo -- a G (for my maiden name that we all share) with six dots somewhere near/around it. The font/size of the G is different, and how we chose to arrange the dots varies, but we are very close and wanted to have the tattoo to express that.
Posted by: laura floyd | January 20, 2005 at 04:36 PM
I don't have one, but I want one. Dh, just pushed me that direction even more when he 'forbid' me from getting one when I came home with my belly button pierced! I am thinking for my 40th birthday (depends on when I have my surgery) I want to lose some of the weight first... since I want it on my boob :)
Posted by: Les | January 20, 2005 at 05:08 PM
I do not sport a tatoo, but I almost got one one drunken night in San Diego (1976) with my Navy gal pals. 5 of us left the barracks planning to get tatooed, but only 3 of us returned with one. (my favorite: my roommate's "Wanna Get Lucky" on her hip, complete with shamrock.)
Posted by: nat | January 20, 2005 at 05:14 PM
I am tattooless. Never wanted one. (Can't imagine anything imprinted — it's so "permanent.") But then I don't go in for adorning myself with ribbons or jewels, either.
Posted by: Isabella | January 20, 2005 at 05:15 PM
I am so NOT a tattoo person. Can you imagine ME with a tattoo? Just wouldn't be right....
But on that topic, I get SO MANY REFERRALS to my business site for "Monogram Tattoos", "Victorian Monogram Tattoos" and "Elegant Monogram Tattoos". They must be so disappointed to find out that I only embellish inanimate objects....
Posted by: Pink Poppy | January 20, 2005 at 05:28 PM
I've got one. It's a rose on my abdomen, very low, left side, sexy and dangerous. You can consider yourself very lucky if you ever get a chance to see it. ;o)
Posted by: zee | January 20, 2005 at 05:29 PM
I haven't got a tattoo yet, I either don't have the money or when I do I don't have the nerve - I'm such a whimp! I want to get a triple moon in a celtic knot design on my shoulder and a small circular knot on either the fleshie bit between my thumb and forefinger or on the underside of my wrist. Both in black ink and not coloured.
Posted by: Bec | January 20, 2005 at 05:51 PM
I always wanted one so when I turned 30 four years ago I went and got one on my ankle of a flower. No biggy. It did not hurt. And I love it!!
Posted by: cori | January 20, 2005 at 06:12 PM
I've thought about an apple or books or quil pen....
But the thought of being 85 years old and the tatoo being one foot lower than it's original spot, has deterred me
....
Posted by: bari | January 20, 2005 at 06:26 PM
No. I've thought about it but it's not likely I will. My fiancée wants me to tattoo
Property of Juan
on my butt.

I have 4 tattoos. (Tis funny cause I was JUST thinking about my ink today on my way home.) My first tat was one I designed myself. It's a blue crescent moon wrapped in green vines and then there are three stars, red, yellow and orange, surrounding it. Technically this is two tats, cause i got the moon and stars at separate times, but it looks like one so I count it as one. That's on my right shoulder/back. My 2nd tat is a bright smiling sun on my left shoulder/back. It's directly opposite my moon. My third tat is a yellow rose on my outside right ankle. It's actually more on my leg than my ankle. It's fairly large. My last tat is a Chinese symbol - it's supposed to mean family - and from I've been told by people who actually speak Chinese, it does :) It's also got a family nickname with it - that was part of my name before I got married. I dropped my maiden name when I got married so I had it inked on :) I want to get more, but the hubby is opposed. I think I will get some more when I have kids :)

The interlocking NY symbol of The New York Yankees, right deltoid muscle. The thing about tattoos is that once you get one, there is always the thought about the next one.
Posted by: geoff | January 20, 2005 at 06:53 PM
OK nobody said it!!! the tattoo of the rooster on the lower leg is so (a guy) can say "I've got a cock that hangs below my knees." My friend has that. The tattoo.
I've got several. After a few flowers and butterflies I got the "Harley-Davidson Motor Cycles" shield and a skull on my upper arm. Now THAT's a TATTOO, baby!!!

I have the profile of a black panther's head, growling with a green eye and red tongue, on my left hip. I've had it since 1989...when it was still illegal to get tattooed in NYC. I'd love to get another one day, but it just doesn't seem as much fun now that everyone has them. I'm a rebel at heart. ;)
Posted by: panthergirl | January 20, 2005 at 07:46 PM
not into tattoos. Sorry.
Posted by: Harry | January 20, 2005 at 08:09 PM
I have two tattoos. When I was 18 I got one around my right ankle - a purple rose on a vine.
Then last year I got an evil red cat with tribal around it on my lower back. I drew the whole thing myself, so it's totally original. I think most people are afraid of it, so my work here is done. ;-)

Too chicken
I have had the henna ones that come off later...does that count?
Posted by: Milehighdivacyn | January 20, 2005 at 08:27 PM
I don't have one, but I do agree they don't have the same stigma as they once did. However I do find it funny that it became a fad 10 or so years ago. It was as if everyone said "Let's be a rebel...together"
Posted by: Grins | January 20, 2005 at 08:41 PM
Don't have one but if I did, it would be of Winnie the Pooh with his nose in a honey pot right at the groin area.
Posted by: Shannin | January 20, 2005 at 08:53 PM
I got it for my 30th birthday. It was my major rebellion. It's on my hip and is a design I did myself. A pink and purple daisy (because I always thought I was more plain than a rose), the center is a yin/yang for obviousl reasons, and there is a tear drop coming off the flower - symbolizes my crappy marriage (that had broken up). So there you go. An impulse buy. Luckily it's not something I can see everyday as a reminder of those turbulent times.

If I were going to get one, I'd get a tiny Scorpio symbol or a triple moon symbol )O( (for the three stages of womanhood) on my hip, in brown, somewhere that would be covered up by a bikini or panties. I doubt I'll ever get one, though.
(By the way, I blogrolled you. :) )

I'd love a tattoo - but I hate pain more.
I keep threatening to tattoo "Property of Kelly" on my husband's forehead *snicker*
Posted by: Kelly | January 20, 2005 at 10:21 PM
I'd thought about it. But by the time I got around to it, I decided against it. Part of me decided I was too old. Part of me decided that in corporate America, it would be a bitch to interview with a tattoo on my ankle.
Part of me still wants to get a moon pentacle on my shoulder blade.

For a long time I wanted one----a peach on my hmmmm left breast but never got one and now I am glad I did not......
